About Us

Naturally Beautiful Backyards (NBB) is a program of Columbia Springs and is presented and funded in partnership with Clark County Solid Waste Program. The NBB program promotes the creation of healthy and productive ecosystems in residential yards and gardens throughout Clark County, Washington by providing education on earth-friendly gardening techniques. Earth-friendly gardens are healthier for children, pets, wildlife and our rivers and streams. Using earth-friendly gardening techniques can contribute to the overall health of our community.

Clark County Solid Waste Program strives to educate county citizens through workshops, lectures, demonstration sites, displays, and written materials about the benefits of reducing chemical use in the yard and garden to decrease the amount of hazardous materials entering the wastestream.

Columbia Springs' mission is to engage the community in environmental education within a historically significant urban setting.
