On-site Education
Columbia Springs offers hands-on, experiential field trips designed to teach pre-K through 8th grade students about forest and stream ecosystems. During each field experience, students will embark on an outdoor adventure that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving. Imagination and curiosity will be ignited through exploration of our ponds, wetlands, and forests. All program material is provided and content is aligned with Washington’s K-12 Science Standards.
Scheduling a Visit
Field trips are available weekdays from September through early June, including the winter months. We can accommodate a maximum of 90 students per day for field trips. Dates fill quickly, so please plan ahead of time. We schedule programs over email or the phone on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We will email you a confirmation packet.
Lunch
We will reserve our covered picnic area for your class if you wish to bring lunch to enjoy after your program. You may be expected to share the shelter with another group. Our facility observes a “pack it in, pack it out” policy. Please bring a large bag to accommodate trash.
